The first agricultural school in Iran was established in 1279, called Falahat Mozaffari School, in the village of Chahardangeh, Tehran. After 6 years, this school was moved to Danesh Sarai Aali, and Bagh Negarestan was considered for its agricultural operations. Falahat Mozaffari School was closed in 1285 and started working again in 1296 under the name of Barzegaran Elementary School under the supervision of the Ministry of Public Works, on the lands of Sulaimaniyah Palace in Karaj (the current location of the Agriculture and Natural Resources Campus). This primary school was moved to the gendarmerie on Molavi Street in Tehran in 1301 and was closed after a short time. In the same year, the complex reopened as the Falahat School, and in 1302 it was renamed the Falahat High School and Rural Industries, which was divided into agricultural, veterinary, Noghan, and tea-making training groups. In 1313, the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine joined this school and these two continued their activities under the name of Falahati Scientific Enterprises of Karaj. The above complex became the Faculty of Agriculture in 1319 and was removed from the Ministry of Agriculture in 1328 and joined the University of Tehran as one of the faculties. In 1345, the Faculty of Forestry was established next to the Faculty of Agriculture and in 1351, it was renamed the Faculty of Natural Resources.
